The best/funniest thing about the food festival last week:
There's a company in town which makes LOVELY cake. They have a little shop/cafe where they sell coffee and their cake. As a rare treat we get one of their award-winning whisky fruit cakes. Delicious, but expensive.
Imagine my delight when I saw at the food festival a stall run by them, selling their cakes more cheaply than usual. So up I dashed to get a couple of whisky fruit cakes. Oddly, there were none on the stall - apparently the latest batch had been made with so much whisky they couldn't sell them without a liquor license!
That, my friends, is proper cake. (Although a bit disappointing in terms of not actually being able to have any...)
