Stuff. (And quite possibly nonsense.)

There have been lots of occasions recently when I've thought 'oh, I'll write about that later'. But I keep not doing it, and then forgetting what it was.

So I will just waffle about what we've been up to lately.

Last weekend was food festival weekend, and thankfully the weather was lovely. Our mission this year was to buy food as local as possible, and we came away (again) with mainly meat and alcohol. I am not sure what this says about the diet of the birdie household. Anyway the furthest any of it has travelled to our house is about 18 miles, which I call pretty darn local. Groover is intrigued by the fact we have a duck in the freezer, and keeps checking with me that's it's dead. He's looking forward to eating it though.

The food festival really is quite a big deal now, with scope for minor celeb spotting. (Major celeb spotting if you're a foodie I would imagine.) Saw Matt Dawson in the back of a mercedes which was being driven by someone else I vaguely recognised, about to attempt to go the wrong way down a one-way street and looking very confused. Realised afterwards that actually they did look like they needed a bit of help from someone who understood the one-way system and which roads had been closed, but they weren't getting it because everyone was seeing them and thinking "ooh! famous! don't stare, act cool, keep walking", and not offering to help. They may still be there.

Tonight groover and mr b went off to sleep in a tent in the grandparents' garden. We haven't been able to go camping this summer due to the arrival of ginger. Groover loves camping so we promised him a night in a tent somehow, and this has been the first opportunity. They went off this afternoon with thick duvets and lots of blankets, looking like they were going to have a lot of fun. I texted at about 9 to see how things were going, to discover that they had just come back in because groover said there were lots of scary animals in the garden. That boy's imagination is his worst enemy. I think they are now 'camping' on the floor of the living room.

Meanwhile I have the bed to myself and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Facebook is sort of working again. I have to put in my log in details, and then go off for a cup of tea while it thinks about it, then if I'm lucky when i come back it's logged me in. I'm not sure why we're suddenly having so much trouble with it.
