Evil mummy

It's my turn to take on the mantle of the wibsite's evillest mummy. Blonde had a go a few days ago, and Pants we expect you to do your duty shortly.

Mine is food related. We have long suspected that baby b has an allergy to cow's milk. We suspect this because (and you might have to concentrate here) he gets a rash every time he has anything with cow's milk in it. Gosh, that was complicated wasn't it?

So far this hasn't been much of a problem, because I'm still breastfeeding him, so he's getting milk from me and not having anything with cheese in it etc. The problem is that I want to wean him around the end of the year, and I want to know what I should give him instead of mummy milk.

So far, so simple, but the problem is that the health visitor* wants a food diary before she can refer us to a dietician or nutritionist or whoever it is we need to see. So today he had cheese to nibble after his lunch, knowing full well that he would have a reaction to it. So now he is rashy and sniffly and grumpy, and I feel guilty. I have to keep this up for a week. I feel particularly bad that I am planning my child's allergic reactions around other activities so we don't have to face the world looking as though he has been beaten around the face with a bunch of stinging nettles.

*must say actually that the health visitor is wonderful, and sympathises, but says that even if she referred me the first thing they'd do is ask for a food diary so I might as well do one now.

ALSO - I really must NOT forget to take him to his urology appointment on Tuesday. I really really mustn't forget.
