This will be rambly. Sorry.
Led worship again on Sunday. Went okay, from what others said. In fact, yes, it went rather well. In some ways it would be easier if it didn't, in terms of making decisions about the future. I had pretty much decided to ask not to be put on the next rota for leading worship. I'm so sure that other people who lead take it so much more seriously than I do... I have the impression that much earnest prayer and bible study is undertaken and then they do the songs that The Lord Tells Them To Do. I pick some songs I like and hope for the best.
Planning this week's I set myself a little challenge to only pick songs that spoke in terms of 'we' and 'us' not 'I' and 'me', on the basis that it is meant to be corporate worship for heaven's sake, and many of the songs we sing are very 'My Jesus, My Boyfriend'-ish. This was difficult in itself, but I managed it. So that's as much thought as went into it, really.
On the day, the theme of being a body rather than a group of individuals did emerge rather strongly <ack! baby crying! will finish this later.....>
