A crafty cry for help

I need your help.

Many many months ago, when baby b was expected but had not yet arrived, I started to make a patchwork quilt 'for the baby' (we didn't know who he was at that point). This quilt, hereafter referred to as 'the quilt of guilt' is, as yet, unfinished. In a way, it becomes more and more unfinished as time goes on, as he will insist on growing, it gets smaller in proportion. If I had finished it before he was born (the original intention, oh how I laugh about it now), it would have been the perfect size for the carry-cot but now, as an almost-toddler, that's just ridiculously small.

In an attempt to get the quilt of guilt finished, I have decided to be stern with myself: "No more craft projects until the quilt is done".

Since I am immensely taken with these sock dogs, and really want to make one, this gives me more incentive on the quilt of guilt. However I know what I'm like. Will you check on how I'm doing, say every week or so? Thanks.

Still, it's a lesson learned. I love making things and fiddling about with paint and fabrics, but I don't really have the patience for a long project.

When I've finished the quilt and made a sock dog, maybe I'll learn to crochet....
