Amnio is suprisingly okay. On a par with giving blood I guess. Big sister, who came with me, claims the needle 'looked like a screwdriver', but it didn't feel too bad. (I looked once it was in, but didn't watch it going in, apart from on the screen.) Felt a bit odd for the rest of the day but no discomfort, and I've been making the most of the 'take it easy for a couple of days' instruction by having big sister over to stay, and she has been doing the toddler catching and lifting. (I will be very sorry to see her go tomorrow, but not as sorry as Groover, I suspect.)
Results for amnio come in two sets. We are expecting the first tomorrow morning, but mr b will be at work so I'm not allowed to tell anyone till later! The first set of results can be compromised if the sample wasn't great (although it looked fine in the tube - no blood), so that doesn't necessarily mean we'll know anything tomorrow. Second set of results in a couple of weeks.
Will be back here at some point but don't know when!
