I want to finish this off now, so I'm just going to post all the crafty pictures I haven't put up here yet!
1. Christmas Cards
I do like making Christmas cards, although I was disappointed that the origami stars didn't work last year. I had to get something together quite quickly in the end so last year's was simple and not that interesting. Still quite effective. I really should have printed the 'merry christmas' on the same coloured paper as the card, though!
The year before, I was a bit busy. The year before that, I did silk painted cards which I really liked. Obviously, because it was a design I liked, I sent them all and don't have any left! Just the original drawing I painted them from:
I'm really aware that next Christmas I will probably have my very own little helper. Who knows what the cards will be like!
2. In which we discover that it is difficult to photograph stained glass.
Remember I mentioned my good friend L, who I did a-level art with? We did the silk painting course together. She also did a stained glass course, and later did modern stained glass for her big project (the same project I made my celtic box for). Now she makes her living making stained glass, like this:
She makes a lot of these crosses, some of them are sold in the shop at Coventry Cathedral. She does commissions as well. This cross was a birthday present. She 'flung it together' before getting the train to my birthday party last year. Makes you sick, doesn't it?!
3. Yet more Sisterly Cleverness.
The other sister this time. This painting is of the beach just down the road from her house, which is also, coincidentally, where mr b proposed to me. This was a wedding present. (Or was it an engagement present? I can't remember...)
4. And last but not least.
A birthday card for baby b, made by a friend.
