I am going to have to cut and paste this from an email I've just sent someone as my internet keeps breaking and I want to do this quickly!
We have had the first set of results back from the amnio. The first test they do looks only at chromosomes 13, 18 and 21 as these are the ones affected by the most common problems (Edwards', Patau's and Down's syndromes). And it came back clear - so it is none of those three!
Once we'd got over the shock (we, and I think most of the medical people, really thought it was going to be one of those three) we do feel that's good news - although the second set of results could still come up with something nasty, at least we've crossed those three off the list!
Next results are expected on 26th June, so we've a bit of a wait now. We'll let you know.
