1. This is the coat. Only in the green, obviously. And, as I said, the buttons are much redder, and the lining much purplier (?) than they appear here. I did have concerns that with the green pushchair and the green-ish car it would all look either hideously co-ordinated, or horribly clashing. So I ordered the pink version of the coat too to check the colours in real life. But the pink one was out of stock so the green one arrived on its own, and I liked it so much I cancelled the pink one. The coat/car/pushchair neither match nor clash horribly although a friend I bumped into the other day in town did comment that I looked very green. I like the coat so much I don't care.

2. I have now done three nursing home training sessions. I haven't yet visited a home which didn't make me want to beg mr b (and baby b, although he doesn't understand yet) not to ever, ever, put me in a home. I would sell my leg to be cared for in my own home rather than that*. Bleh. On the up-side, the training has gone well (today's group were particularly entertaining), although I am knackered. (* I am of course aware that three is hardly a representative sample, and I'm sure there are some nice ones.)

3. The walking. I have two friends who have little boys younger than baby b. T is 14 months old, and S is nearly a year. (Note to self: buy present for next weekend). They are both walking. After witnessing T walk across the hall after toddlers last week, mr b said "right! we're teaching baby b to walk." And after lunch, he set to it. Surprisingly, he has had some success. On about three occasions baby has taken four steps before flinging himself gleefully to the ground. He doesn't do it very often, and he enjoys the falling over as much if not more than the walking, but still, four steps!

4. A new invention. (I have photos of this but haven't uploaded them yet). I have a revolutionary new cleaning device which I am willing to hire out for a small fee. If the space under your bed tends to get horribly dusty, as ours does, I can recommend sending in a baby. When he emerges, he will have collected the dust in his eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, mouth, clothes and ears, and all you need do is pop him in the bath to rinse it all away.

5. Tomorrow I am planning to take baby b on the Brecon Mountain Railway. The poor kid has had such a boring few days, fitting in around everyone else and spending vast amounts of time strapped into his car seat/pushchair/high chair, that we are feeling in need of a Proper Day Out. Depends on the weather a bit though, but I have been getting quite excited looking at the website. Although you seem to be able to find out all sorts of information about the railway, apart from how much it costs to go on the thing.
