Lanark noted the co-ordination between my quilt fabrics and the colour of this wiblog. I don't tend to have 'a favourite colour', but I do tend to go through phases of slight obsession with certain colour combinations, until I do something to get them out of my system and move on to another one.
A while ago someone gave me a card with a picture of a deep purple flower (like a passion flower) against an acid green leaf (like one of those very green hostas). That was the beginning of my current green & purple obsession. (It was at that time I changed the wiblog colours to this green from whatever it was before).
Getting the green coat with the purple lining helped, but I think making this quilt is going to get this well and truly out of my system (that is, I will be sick of the sight of it by the time I've finished).
The second batch of colours was intended to be more browny/orangey/autumnal colours than they appear on the picture below, but I was seduced by the third one from the left, which is a gold/green/deep red combination and led on to choosing the other colours to go with it. I am thinking it might need a bit of contrast to make that quilt a bit more lively though - maybe the odd deep pink square, and/or pink binding at the edge. Still, I can't think about that now as the wedding quilt is a higher priority.
