And now, the end is near, and so I face, the final curtain.......
yes, term is more or less over, the library turns into an oven and people leave in droves, off to nicer places.
On the other hand, I've decided that braving the heat of the library is a good thing really, as I spent far too much time in the sun on Saturday and getting very very tired....... (it was a long day, 5.18am-2.23am) and I was quite happy to spend most of Sunday in a semi-dozing situation in the living room. At least until the evening when I became restless and bored!!!
The involved a mad dash up the motorway (in a mini-bus) to get to Lillieshaw to participate in the BUSA Outdoor Archery Championships. It was a really hot, sunny day, though the gusty wind made it that bit more interesting!! I was fairly pleased with my results and finished 6th with 908/972, missing the gold only 28 times out of 108!!!
For those of a tecnical mind we shot 108 arrows, 36 each at 80, 60 and 50yds with each arrow scoring either 9, 7, 5, 3 or 1 point.
Of course, mine was not the only sporting event over the weekend. There was the Women's European Football cup (won again by Germany 3-0 Norway) and what can not quite be described as the US Grand Prix. On the ground that only six (out of twenty) cars competed!!!
And a simple matter of Australia being beaten in the cricket, again. Now if only I can say that when the Ashes Tour starts.............
