Thought I'd take this moment to wish those getting married on Saturday the best of luck. So that's Trisha and Stuart (who's wedding I'm going to), Cat and Graham and Catholic Chris and his Bride-to-be.

I also feel that I own Yip a slight apology. Reading my Wedding Day Book I came across the bit where it says;
Pope Paul VI did away with the rule that excommunicated Roman Catholics for marrying in non-Catholic ceremonies and in 1966 the celebration of mixed marriage 'with the sermon' was permitted. In 1970 he abandoned the necessity of written promises which stated that both parties agreed to the bringing up of any children from the marriage as Catholics. Instead he said that the Catholic partner was 'gravely bound' to make a sincere promise that he or she would do all in their power to have the children baptized and brought up with the teaching of the Catholic Church. The non-Catholic partner had to be informed of this promise, whether verbal or written. A year later the Anglican-Roman Catholic Commission on the Theology of Marriage and it's Application to Mixed Marriages agreed that the duty to educate children in the Roman Catholic faith was 'circumscribed by other duties such as that of preserving the unity of the family'. What it all boiled down to was that each partner should respect the other's faith.
Which meant that Yip was more right than I was....... Oh well!!!!

And for those who thought that discussing promises about the future of children from mixed marriages is strange, we've spent al lot more time looking into which of the European Royal Families had members who were eligable that we could marry into.

I know, I know...... it's very sad...... but this is what we found!!! ;)

British Royal family:-
Lady Rose Windsor (b.1980) (21st in line)
Lord Frederick Windsor (b.1979) (30th in line)
Lady Gabriella Windsor (b.1981) (31st in line)

Sweden
Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden (b.1977)
Carl-Philip, Prince of Sweden (b.1979)
Madeleine Therese,
Princess of Sweden
(b.1982)

Monoco
Adrea Casiraghi (b.1984)

I said it was sad.......
