In a school district, in Pennsylvania, parents are taking the School Board to court to protect the teaching of evolution in science class. This is opposed to the "Intelligent Design" that the School Board would rather have taught.....
Maybe it's because I'm a scientist, but I just can't see how either "Intelligent Design" nor "Creation Science" can be taught in science classes......
For something to be science, it has to be testable..... even Einstein's Theory of Relativity has been tested. I know that the Theory of Evolution, on the grand scale, can't be proven, but it fits all available facts, and evolution on a small scale is fact. However, ID or Creation do not fit the facts.... you can't take the facts and come up with either theory.... you take the theory and squeeze the facts to try and fit, and that isn't science.
I have often wondered how all these Creationists and ID'ists, who would like it pointed out to school children that Evolution is mearly a theory and unproven fact, how they would react if in Religious Education classes the children were told that God is only a theory. If all the Bibles (and other religious books) had to have "this is only a theory" sticker put on it.
Because (starting a sentance with 'because' there......) Faith isn't taking all the facts and therefore seeing that there is a God and He exists..... Faith is the act of believing without the proof. With no evidence. When I look out of the window I do not see anything that I can point at and say "God made that!"
But I still believe.
