Blue I hear you cry....... well you're wrong. All of you!!!!
But how can I say such a thing, do I not look out the window and see blue sky (if I ignore the 100% cloud cover)?? No. I see blue sun light (????). Yes, the blue that we see is mearly the refracted light from the sun as it passes through the atmosphere. Hence, when the sun is low in the sky and the angle is changed we sky appears red - yellow.
We all know that the gases that make up the air are transparent, apart from water, which can condense and appear white - dark grey. But we all know that water is also transparent. There is a reason for this.
If we remove the sun we can see the stars. They themselves are suns, just a long way away. Remove them as well. That leaves us with black. The sky is in fact black (hence you can see clouds).
All of you who said blue, well now you know!!!!
Next week I shall show:-
