Tony Blair said something on the news yesterday that I thought was interesting. He said that "anything less than the ninety days the police want would be second class". Then I wondered, what's so special to ninety days, as opposed to the fourteen days it is now??? Or, let's say one hundred days?? Or six months, or a year, or simply "indefinatly"??

If we think someone is going to commit a crime, we don't we just pick them up, off the street and lock them away where they can do no harm to anyone. By not charging them, it doesn't matter that they haven't actually commited a crime as yet, the stopping them commiting the crime that they might have done is worth it.

But at what point does it go over the top???

In Matthew 5:28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." If I just sit here look across the room and my gaze falls upon an attractive woman, does that mean that though I'm not actually commiting a crime, I am however thinking thoughts that could be sexual harassment.....??? Should I go hand myself in to the local police station???

[for those interested there isn't a woman sitting opposite me.... infact, are there any women in here....??? four... all with their backs to me....]

Perhaps we could put little "black boxes" in all cars that would record, and report back, if the driver breaks a traffic law. MOT's for bikes?? A crackdown on the internet?? A police state where to speak out against anything leads to jail.....???

But, thankfully Tony has been beaten and the first step to the State has been blocked..... shame!!!

Having had enough of this serious stuff, I think tomorrow I shall be lighter again...... if you have anything in particualr you'd like me to talk about, ask, otherwise I'll pick something and see where it goes!!!!
