I was watching a programme last night, on BBC2, looking at the history of Shakespeare. Which I suppose they are showing as they have their "ShakespeaRetold" season on BBC1.
It reminded me of the time a few years ago when I thought it would have been quite cool to do some of Shakespeare's plays in the little amphitheatre that was behind the leasure centre. Not big productions, but just a handfull of people, the most basic of props just having a laugh (esp. as we'd have to be reading it from the books, we wouldn't be able to remember the whole play). Do it in the summer, and have a different play everyday for a week. That sort of thing. It would have been fun I think.
Of course, the amphitheatre is no longer and like so many of my little daydreams it is no longer really possible. Which is something I have noticed...... it's those little daydreams that you have that then never seem to happen..... it's very annoying and just not fair!!!!
And for a giggle, it seems that Welsh operatic legened Bryn Trefel is often mistaken for American rock legend Meatloaf......... it's true
