Every now and again you come across a story that can only happen in one place..... a place where normal rules just don't seem to apply. Neither logic nor sense to be found. That place is Cumbria.

A man who complained about a parking ticket he had recieved for parking on the pavement got his reply from the council in the form of a poem..... a poem...!!!! However, I have not yet found a copy of this (I heard it on the radio, it was very good!!) so I thought I'd concentrate of a silghtly different story.

We've all heard the stories of people who have stupid things with objects, and then (sucessfully) sued the manufacturers for not having a warning telling them not to do it. Like the Winibago driver who thought that "crusie control" would drive the van for him, so went intothe back to make some coffee, and then crashed. People who spill coffee on themselves, then sue because it's hot and they got burnt.

This is the story about a man who's suing Apple, because their iPods may cause damage to hearing if played too loudly...... apparently iPods are "inherently defective in design and are not sufficiently adorned with adequate warnings". There are warnings that come with the iPods (as with all personal stereo equipment) about playing music too loudly but this isn't apparently enough for the man who wants this to be a class action suit. And no, we don't know if he has suffered any hearing loss or not......

It does make me wonder if it would be possible to sue the gun manufacturers for making stuff that gets people hurt, if not used properly........ imagine it, a class action suit with everyone who has ever lost someone from a fatal shooting......if you won you could destroy the entire market!!!
