Here, on the Sabbeth....??? Something I don't usually do, perfering to be home eating or something, but here I am, as soon as the library opens, for one very simple reason.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, it's the challenge trophy cup that Lord Stanley bought in Regents Street in 1892 for the Ice Hockey teams of Canada to play for, and on friday the best eights teams from the west and eastern conferences started playing a series of (best-of-seven) knock-out games that will culminate with the best of the west vs. the best of the east.
I am sad to say that my dear, beloved Leafs finished just two points shy of securing a playoff position, however, all is not lost, for I still have favourite teams in the mix. Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadians (both won their first games) and the New York Rangers have made a return to playoff hockey (and lost their first game 6-1).
And at 3.05am Monday night I get to watch my first game thanks to five. And I don't even know which game it is!!!
