Acts of Faith.........

I got an email a few days ago from a friend on who's blog I occasionally leave messages. This time it was due to a slight misunderstanding, due to my Catholic leanings and that she isn't.
I would like to point out one thing that is very important, though: it is not by WORKS we are saved but by FAITH. It's right in there in the New Testament. Living a 'good' life does not get you to heaven because we all have sinned and no one is righteous, not one (also in the NT).
This is right of course. The difficulty had come about because I was refering to ACTS that you do BECAUSE you have FAITH. Things like Charity, Goodness, Forgiveness, Graciousness... stuff like that.

So what I don't get are people who state their Christian beliefs, but don't live up to them. Sometimes, not even seeming to care.

You may recall that I mentioned I had a friend who was runover by a car a few weeks back (and then appologised for not telling me cause she was in hospital, that's Catholic Guilt for you!!), I mentioned this to a friend of mine, and even before I gotten to he part where she's left hospital he'd already said "Good".... Good!!! Good that someone has been runover by a car???? What makes it that bit more galling is that if he had been runover she would probably have sent a getwell soon card...... ahhh, Christian Love.....

Then again, how can you question someone's faith??? Or try to get them to question it themselves???

Afterall, my "Christain" Friend (ChrisF from now on) will happily say that he doesn't go to church, presumable doesn't take part in Communion. I'm trying to think of an example of charitable works that he may have done for someone, but am faing....the words 'a right sour puss' come to mind.....

Thing is, I know he is a good Christian. Two or three years ago I wouldn't have any cause to doubt, but now... well now I can not say that he acts as I would expect a Christian to act.....

While it is through our Faith that we are saved, how important are those Acts that our Faith should demand of us....??? The Acts that take our 'Statment of Faith' from just words to a way of life.....??
