And subsequently the Summer Ball has rolled arounmd again. If I look out of my window I can see the reverse bungee, the Big Top and a couple of other tents that must have stuff in them.
Of course, this Summer Ball isn't a patch on the ones back in the day. At a time when we had Tom Jones playing and it was voted the third best University Summer Ball in the country. We had bands requesting to play here.
There used to be suit hirers coming round to let people hire suits for the ball. Now-a-days the dress code is "Smart, or whatever you want......" I can see one guy walking down there wearing only a hula-skirt.....
Isn't it terrible how standards have dropped over the years???
