Yesterday I got to see my second Shuttle Launch alibet on tv. This is definatly somethign on my list of things to go see live and as they're planning to stop in 2010, well, I have a time limit to get to Cape Canaveral (yeah, ok, Kennedy Space Center). I don't know what it is, but there just something amazing about the Space Shuttle. You see something that bulky and yet it's travelling more than 125mph by the time it's cleared the takeoff tower. Within a few minutes it's travelling at over FOUR THOUSAND mph and is over FORTY MILES up........ and this is something that man has made.....
Wow....
And sticking with 'wow' and 'things that man has made', today is the 60th birthday of the bikini. Apparently. Actually, it's been seen in mosaics dating back 1700 years.... but that doesn't count. And as a suit, made of four triangles from only thirty inches of fabric the bikini's creator, Louis Reard (a frenchman, unsurprisenly) did say that; 'a bikini is not a bikini if it can not be pulled through a wedding ring.'
I'm having to make the assumption that it's the owner's wedding ring, as this is a test that I am unable to do. Not owning a wedding ring. Or a bikini for that matter.
