The big clubhouse in the sky......

Before I start I'm going to say that my competition went well. It was horrible. As the tournament organiser comments note; "The weather on Saturday was overcast with a heavy headwind; on Sunday there were light
showers and windy.
" Yay that was fun. What was fun was the meeting up with Ece and being driven out to the curry house to pick up our curry. She's hoping to pass her test before winter and as I was only scared once she's doing well.

We had the funeral of my Nan today, well, technically yesterday. It was a lovely service. Being a keen golfer (up to the last) she was buried in her golfing clothes and with her 4 iron. We had people from the Army Golf Club down, and they'll be flying their flag at halfmast for her, which is nice.

We had two hymns, 'The Lord is my Shepherd' to a tune I didn't know and 'Abide With Me' which I'll be quoting later. We also had the same priest that burried my grandpa twenty-seven years earlier and she was burried in the same plot.

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide:
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me!

I need Your presence every passing hour,
What but Your grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who like Yourself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me

I fear no foe, with You at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness;
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, your victory?
I triumph still, if You abide with me!

Hold You Your cros before my cloing eyess;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord abide with me!

Henry Francis Lyte, 1847

Ok, I didn't so much quote but gave the whole thing, I liked it!!! :p
