Today I went to Wells (as in Bath and Wells) and looked round the cathedral there and it was lovely. The clock with the jousting knights (the same one has apparently been losing every fifteen minutes for the last six hundred years!!!), the scissors arches, the quire... it was all lovely in a way that only cathedrals can be.
This was followed by a trip to nearby Chedder Gorge. Gough's Cave was incredably boring. Sure, they have "The Chedder Man" but they also have a terrible hand-held audio commentry that I only used so I had some idea what I was actually looking at.
Cox's Cave started off slightly more boring, but without the commentry (yes!!) but they finished with "The Crystal Quest" which was amazing. Elves, goblins, dwarves, wraiths, dragons (well, dragon)..... I loved it. And the little kids almost in tears being dragged round by their parents didn't make me feel any worse either (yes, I'm evil).
I will put up piccies but while I've taken them off the camera I've not put them onto Flickr yet.
And the subject title?? despite there being rain all over the place whenever we were outside the weather was fine. Weren't we lucky!!!
