There were two in the bed and the little one said.......

I was reading my paper this lunchtime and came across an article that made me giggle. It's part of series of adaptions from the book Two in a Bed: The Social System of Couple Bed Sharing by Paul C. Rosenblatt.

Today they covered about getting used to sleeping together, the bed, bedding, going to bed, what people wear (ten percent of people sleep in the nude), window and blanket wars.

My favourite, however, was 'We have our sides of the bed' in which we discover that there are eight main reasons as to why people sleep on the side of the bed that they do.... don't worry, I'm not going to keep you in suspence!!!

1) it's the side I slept on before we were a couple, (you were sleeping together before....ok, bad joke)
2) I get claustrophobic if I'm not closer to the door,
3) I'm closer to the door to protect her, (my hero.....)
4) I want to be closer to the bathroom (usually the woman),
5) I/my partner has to get up first in the morning, (but does that matter, can't you walk round??)
6) I'm closer to the door because of the children (usually the mother), (awwww.....)
7) it's because of the pain and/or stiffness
8) my side is warmer. (yeah, cause you've stolen the blankets!!!)

Anyway, tomorrow covers snoring partners, bedtime rows, sex in bed and the importance of intimacy.

I'm currently bemoaning the lack of anything on tv, writing postcards and wondering how I hurt my back. Again..... *sigh*
