This is a very important thing to do. For instance; last summer I went up to Glasgow for a competition. Booked accomidation in the Youth Hostel in Lannark (Glasgow was fully booked), and as it's a long trip got there fairly late in the evening. Late enough that they had closed up shop and I ended up sleeping in my car. Not very happy!!!
This time, I called up the youth Hostel in Dolgellau and discovered that it's closed for the winter. As is the one in Llanbedr. The one in Cynwyd has no link to, so I'm going to stay in Betws-Y-Coed. And final check-in is at 9pm. So I know. No getting caught out and sleeping in car. Not for me!!!
Once you're booked in there is 24 hour access, so I can get in after being thrown out of the pub, there is internet access so I can stay up-to-date with the Ice Hockey scores... I mean you lot.... ther is even a laundry so I didn't need to bring over a weeks worth of clothing with me in the first place..... oh well!!!
Now that in turn raises the question of what is there to do for someone in the middle of Snowdonia National Park......?? For someone who may have brought all their hiking stuff along with them.... I wonder.... Don't worry, I promise to tell you if I do go climbing, and when I get back as well!!
