If I was given the choice between hot weather or cold weather I will always choose cold weather. This is because you can wrap-up against cold weather and be warm, but there's a limit to how much you can take off when it's hot to be cool....
Dolgellau was lovely. Unlike last week the weather wasn't rainy but was gloriously sunny. Sunny but cold. But that didn't matter. I had two pairs of gloves, thick socks and a couple of jumpers. And a fantastic breakfast. We were staying in a B&B in the west-end of Dolgellau and it was lovely. But by far the breakfast was just amazing.
Sit down to fruit juice and cornflakes and after that a full english (beans, bacon, sausage, hash browns, egg, mushrooms, fried bread, tomatos) and then toast!!!! It was very, very nice...... Mmmmmmm..... :)
I certainly needed it for my drive home that night!! After watching several mildly amusing programmes on the BBC I headed home a little later than I had planned. And then with the weather it took me over FIVE HOURS to get home..... which is far longer than I thought.
What did surprised me was the amount of ice that had formed on the front of my car. Wing mirrors, radio arial... all covered in a thick sheet of ice. This had the slight problem of making the engine not warm up and subsequently the heating not work...... driving for five hours when there's no heat. I discovered that if I pull my collar up and my hat down I leave only my nose and eyes exposed.
However, the getting home at 3.45am and the being in the office at 8.20am does mean I'm slightly sleepy now.
Nighty night!!!
