People reading over at Cartoon Blog will have a rough idea that there's been something going on in the upper echelons of the worldwide Anglican Church. It bsically comes down to the fact of how much should the Episcopal Church of the US and the Canadian Anglican Churches be told off for their actions (reguarding the homosexual question).

The more conservative elements of the Communion would like the two Churches to be severly told off and punished and if not the more conservative churches are threatening to leave themselves.

The Episcopal Church of the US and the Canadian Anglican Church are both folding their arms and saying that they have done nothing wrong.

The rest of the Churches are trying very hard to stop a big split happening in the Anglican Communion, mainly by stalling for time and hoping that hot heads have time to cool down a little bit.

However a story in the news papers a couple of days ago did make me wonder......"Churches to Unite Under Pope" the reason being is that a year or two ago there was another story about a possible Methodist/Anglican reunion and I thought it was very funny because you can't imagine a direct link between the Roman Catholic and Methodist Churches.

What was interesting is the fact that it is almost possible to spilt the Anglican Church in two, with one half being happier to join the Methodists and the other happier to join the R.Catholics*.

If such a thing were to happen I was wondering who would get what?? Not only in the case of staplers and kettles but churches, cathedrals and the Queen (she is Defender of Our Faith afterall)?? If there isn't a cartoon in that I would be very surprised!!!

Of course, there would probably be a small group of people who'd want to stay as Anglicans. What they would do with several thousand churches, cathedrals and kettles is anyone's guess....

* - no, I'm not going to tell you which way I'd jump. d:
