Save the cheerleader, save the world.......

I'm watching one of the two Si-Fi series that are currently showing on joy that is BBC2.

The current show is Heroes, which I will admit that I am enjoying. However, I fear that it's going to try to head down the 'Lost' path of having very little actually happening in each episode. I'm not saying that having a storyline that runs from begining of a series to the end is a bad thing, but I do like for there to be something to start/finish in the same episode or two.

Buffy, Star Trek: DS9, The X-files, Firefly were all great shows, they all had stories that reached from begining to end, but they also had stand-alone stories. Well, apart from The X-files.... the stand-alone episodes were infact a whole lot better than the ones that were just about evil-dark-guys/aliens-taking-over-the-world.

The other great BBC2 series which has just come to an end is (or was) Hyperdrive. Now, when the series started I wasn't too sure about it, I mainly watched it as it was after Mock The Week. But like a fungus it grew on me and I quite enjoyed it. Shame that it's finished.

On the other hand, it's been replaced by Gavin and Stacey. Oh how I miss listening to the welsh accent.....
