Today we welcomed a new children and youth leader to our Church.
Well not just our church, Dan is to be the joint youth leader with our church and the Methodist church at the other end of the park. A joint project between two denominations. (I did say ours was Anglican, didn't I? No? Ah well, moving on.) The two churches worshipped together at our building (the largest).
This got me thinking.
A lot of years ago, my wife, Linda, and I ran our churches youth group. Linda was pregnant at the time. That expected child became a boy, Matt, and in time Matt needed a youth leader. That youth leader was once in our youth group. The baton is passed on.
Yesterday, as well as officially welcoming the two churches' youth and children's worker, we also prayed for those who are involved in working with youth and children. One who works with the youth at the Methodist church was our son Matt. The baton passes on again.
