Love is not emotional ... How would you react if being a Christian meant your church building, or even your own home was likely to be firebombed? Despite churches being bombed and Christians homes destroyed, people are still becoming Christians in Kandhamal province, India. Even some of those who had attacked Christians in the last few years have now joined the faith, attracted to the loving attitude those they had attacked had shown to them. Following the teaching of Jesus to not only not take revenge, but to pay back evil with good, is something attractive. This shows the importance of love in a Christian context, and the important thing about love is it is not an emotion. It is not about how we feel, it is about what we do. when people do things we don't like, we are not going to feel very loving, but we can still act in a loving way. Love is a verb, it is a doing word. to show love we have to do something. And it is by this love being shown in action that people will know that we are Christians, that God's love is seen in our lives. So let's follow the example of these Indian Christians. Let's get doing love.
