Forty blogs of Lent

37

At our RL church one evening we heard of the work of the charity CART which our church supports. On of the British helpers had been out to Africa, and had spent two days helping to dig a large hole near to the newly installed water tap. The hole was filled with water and was used for a baptism service. At first the service was fine, but as more people were baptised the water began to get dirty. By the time the 56th (yes I said 56!)person had been baptised it was really muddy. What are the theological implications of going into the baptism water clean and coming out dirty?
