Forms filled in

Diary of an accident victim Part 35

Monday 24th March 2008

I've started this in a new blog to allow the discussion on the nature of forgiveness to continue on the previous one... I've filled the forms in, I had no idea what you can claim for. I'd already claimed for loss of earnings, a new bike & helmet, new glasses and dental treatment. I've been asked for details of the following:

Mileage for journeys made for treatment Cost of over the counter medicines Help from family members dressing Help from family members bathing Help in everyday tasks such as: shopping cooking gardening DIY

For example, I used to cook two or three times a week before the accident, now I only cook about three times a month, as after a day at work the ankle hurts and I just rest. According to my solicitors someone in my family is doing chores they wouldn't be doing if I hadn't had the accident, so they can claim for the time taken to do them. If only compensation were simple.

to be continued...
