Diary of an accident victim Part 24

Monday 5th February 2007

I rang the solicitors today, wondering why I haven't heard anything for weeks.It seems that they are waiting for the medical reports from the hospital and my GP, and that these usually take about two and a half months to arrive. These will be sent by the solicitors to a consultant at the same hospital they got the reports from, who will assess the injuries independently of the doctors involved in the case. Such a long time for the notes to travel a short distance.

Tuesday 6th February

Went to see my doctor today as the swelling in the leg is still there, and I still get aches in the ankle joint and around the break after nearly 11 months from the accident. He suspects that arthritis has set in in the ankle joint, and has started me on a series of arthritis drugs for the next three weeks. A side effect is that if I have spicy food (and I love HOT spicy food) the two react. The end result is not pleasant.
