Funny for Money

Forty blogs of Lent

Day 27

Comic Relief - Red nose day 2013

Comic Relief, the money raising event that comes around every two years, was yesterday. For me it started early, some of the line managers had been nominated to take part in a Bush Tucker Trial, being given a series of unusual things to eat or drink. This happened on Thursday. Then the day itself, I worked part of the day wearing a long wig, to . It would have been all day if the wig hadn't been so hot. There was a cake stall, People had home baked and offered them for sale. Then onto the evening telethon, 7 hours of comedy, pleas for money, and short films showing how the money is spent. What I recognised is that although there is no religious content to the show, that some of the projects covered are run by Christian organisations, I get their newsletters and online updates. I recognise these projects. So it's good to see comediand getting involved in fund rising, and it's good to see Christians at the sharp end getting their hands dirty. And, as of 9am today over £75 million raised. Woohoo.
