No smoke without fire?

Well today I went for a little visit to the very lovely smoking cessation people at my local hospital. I have been thinking about giving up for a while and decided that I am just going to have to get on with it!! I have tried to stop before and managed for about 6 months but then relapsed, so I am a bit anxious about stopping really!

The woman I saw was very helpful and she told me that because I work for the NHS they will provide me with 12 weeks free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) so I have decided to go for patches. I have loads of reasons for giving up; hopefully my physical health should improve, I am sick of everything smelling of fags, being a smoker is so antisocial these days (you get treated better if you are a heroin addict!) and of course I am spending more time with someone who doesn't smoke!! :)

So, I would appreciate your prayers. I am going to give up on Friday as I fly back to Guernsey tomorrow evening for a family wedding on Saturday. I though it was a good time to stop as the weekend will be out of my normal routine and my family all think it is a revolting habit!
