One of my favourite programmes of all time is Top Gear as it is just the most ridiculous programme on TV.
Last night programmes showed the three presenters taking a little holiday in America but it was far from your usual fly-drive holiday. They had to buy a car in Miami and drive across America to somewhere else (can you tell I didn't pay much attention to where they were going!) and on the way they had a series of challenges to complete. So not only did Richard ‘Hamster' Hammond nearly end up in an alligator infested river but Jeremy Clarkson also had with a cow on top of his Chevy Camaro. Possibly the highlight of the programme though was the decoration they had to do to each others cars before they drove through the deep south. The slogans included such gems as “Hilary for President”, “Country and Western is rubbish” and my personal favourite “man-love rules ok”. It should be said that these slogans meant that they nearly had the shit kicked out of them, but even that was quite funny.
Anyway, last night I was sitting on my sofa watching Top Gear and laughing so much that I could not stop myself. It is highly possible that the people in the next door flat think I am completely barmy. I got to that awful point when you manage to pull yourself together and then something else sets you off. Anyway, you can imagine it. The worst bit was that I didn't have anyone to share the funniest bits with as I was on my own! Anyway, I am quite sure that was not the only person sitting watching the TV weeping with laughter on Sunday evening. Maybe we should start lobbying for the three presenters to receive knighthoods. Arise Sir James May has quite a ring to it.
