I have been having a funny old day. Kind of feeling a bit lonely, even though I have been surrounded by people all week. However, tonight I went out for dinner with one of my friends from The Ship of Fools. I found this quote the other day...
Internet friendships are not real. They must not take the place of real people and real friends in your life. (Suzette Fram)
I have met lots of people that I first met on the internet. Some of them have gone on to be real friends who have made a big different to my life! I guess the internet has given me the opportunity to meet lots of people who are very different to me; who have different experiences, life situations, educational backgrounds, come from different countries and nationalities or who have different faiths. These people have enriched my life enormously.So, thank you to the person who took me out tonight, plied me with wine and cheered me up. I love you lots!
So instead of that quote above I choose to end my blog with these two quotes...
Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away. (George Eliot)
If I had never met you, I wouldn't like you;
If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you;
If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you;
But I did, I do, and I will. (Unknown)
