My Life with George: The Inspirational Story of How a Wilful Dog Brought Joy to a Bereaved Family by Judith Summers is a book I wanted to read ages ago. I read an extract in a newspaper and it made me laugh loads. Anyway, the book is about how the author and her son survived losing their husband and father, with the aid of a difficult but adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called George. I have to admit that the descriptions of his truly appalling behaviour and how he wrapped the humans around his fluffy paw made me laugh out loud. It certainly cheered me up when I was feeling a little bit off-colour.
