Is this just me?

As sad as I am about the disappearance of Madeline McCann I am getting heartily sick of all the news coverage of it. She is almost as big as Diana and that hacked me off too. What is really making me irritable about it all is the fact that when she first disappeared her parents used the media to it's full force, and yet now they are complaining about media intrusion. They can't have it both ways! The other thing that winds me up is, if this was any other family who weren't so professional, white, middle-class or media savvy would they have the same sort of coverage? The reality is that if it was another type of family they would have social services all over them by now for leaving their three children unattended. I have clients who have had their children removed for similar actions (or inaction depending on how you see it!) so why should the McCann's be treated differently? Don't get me wrong. I understand that this is an unbelievable sad episode for this family and their friends. I just don't understand the inequity at times.
