I went to a really interesting talk tonight on 'Celibacy' of all things. I am a bit too knackered to deconstruct it properly at the moment but it was absolutely fascinating. The guy who was talking was very funny and terribly honest and what he seemed to be suggesting was that if you aren't in a long-term relationship/marriage then celibacy isn't the 'be all and end all' but integrity, intimacy and honesty are so important. I think I need to think a bit harder about some of the things that he has said and to get my head around them, but suffice to say, it was an amazing talk when I didn't really expect it to be!
The one thing he said that really made me laugh though was he described same-sex relationships as being the 'carbon-neutral version' of the 2.4 children equivalent.
