The weather is absolutely vile today so I have snuggled up at home under a blanket with my cat and I am watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I bought the trilogy today as it was a bargain price and I ad forgotten how much I love these films.
I have just reached that bit in the film where Indiana Jones is close to reaching the Holy Grail and he has to step off into a ravine to prove his worth. There is nothing beneath his feet that he can see, but when he steps out a thin bridge of rock appears, a bridge that had been concealed against the other rock materialises. I have seen this film clip used in youth talks about how faith is like stepping out when there appears to be nothing beneath your feet. I kind of like this illustration of faith and at the moment I feel a bit that every time I go to church and every time I try to talk to God I take this leap of faith, not quite knowing whether there is going to be anything solid beneath my feet, but somehow that bridge always appears. Cheesy... definitely! but I love both the film and this particular scene :)
